NOTICE OF PROPOSED CONVEYANCE
OF UNITED METHODIST CHURCH PROPERTY
(Young’s Memorial United Methodist Church)
Notice is hereby given that the Board of Trustees of the West Virginia Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church will on or after June 18, 2020, QUITCLAIM, GRANT and CONVEY TO THE TRUSTEES OF THE YOUNG’S MEMORIAL COMMUNITY CHURCH, all of their right, title and interest in and to that certain tract or parcel of land situate in Union District, in Clay County, West Virginia, on then waters of Queen Shoals Creek and further bounded as follows, to-wit:
BEGINNING at a stake on the road on a line of Raders land,
thence N 51-30 W 170 feet to a stake and small poplar, in line
of first parties land, thence N 28-15 ____ 240 feet to state at
road, thence with the road 170 feet to the place of beginning.
And being the same property conveyed from W. N. Lipscomp
and Cora M. Lipscomb, his wife, to Trustees of the Young’s
Memorial M. E. Church of Queen Shoals, by Deed dated
December 15, 1945 and recorded in the Office of the Clerk of
the County Commission of Clay County, West Virginia in Deed
Book 53, at page 99.
Said Young’s Memorial United Methodist Church was declared closed effective March 18, 2020, by resolution adopted by a majority of the District Superintendents of the West Virginia Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church.
