COUNTY ASSESSOR STAFF TO BEGIN FIELD REVIEW
The Clay County Assessor’s staff is mandated by the WV State Tax Department to make door to door visitation in a three-year cycle. This year 2024 properties include Buffalo and Otter Districts.
Visitation to these areas will start in May and will continue through summer. We will be driving by and taking pictures from the county vehicle. Our vehicle is a white Jeep, clearly marked on both side doors and with county plates.
Property will be reviewed by Teresa Davis, Assessor and McKenzie Smith, Chief Deputy Assessor. Kari Scott, Transfer Clerk, Carole Pierson, and Stephanie Wayne, Deputy Assessors within the office.
Owners with new construction permits will be checked later in the fall. Contact our office if you have had any changes or improvements to your property, such as anything new built or any removal of buildings.
