COUNTY ASSESSOR STAFF TO BEGIN FIELD REVIEW
The Clay County Assessor’s staff is mandated by the WV State Tax Department to make door to door visitation in a three-year cycle. This year, 2023, properties include Union and Pleasant Districts.
Visitation to these areas will start within mid-April and will continue through summer. With the Coronavirus, it will be necessary to make adjustments in the way we go about collecting the necessary data. This will limit the need to be in closed contact and make it safer for property owners and the county employees. We will be driving by and taking pictures from the county vehicle. Our vehicle is a white Jeep, clearly marked on both side doors and with county plates.
Property will be reviewed by Teresa Davis, Assessor and McKenzie Smith, Chief Deputy Assessor. Kari Scott, Transfer Clerk, Darlene Ramsey, and Robin Church are Deputy Assessors within the office.
Owners with new construction permits will be checked later in the fall. Contact our office if you have had any changes or improvements to your property, such as anything new built or any removal of buildings.
