Notice is hereby given that Mettiki Coal (WV), LLC, 1146 Monarch Street, Lexington, Kentucky 40513 has submitted an application to the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), 47 School Street, Suite 301, Philippi, WV 26416 for an Incidental Boundary Revision (IBR #17) to existing mining permit number U-2001-04 in the Upper Freeport seam of coal for the purpose of adding 11.17 acres of permit area, consisting of an infrequently used access road, pad areas, and borehole, to support underground coal mining operations of the Mt. View Mine. A waiver to exceed the acreage limitation is being requested.
The proposed operations will discharge into an unnamed tributary of Buffalo Creek of the North Branch of the Potomac River and an unnamed tributary of Beaver Creek, of the Blackwater River, of the Black Fork River, of the Cheat River, of the Monongahela River, and is located 4.56 miles, southeast of Bayard, in the Union District of Grant County and Davis District of Tucker County.
