Notice is hereby given that Island Creek Coal Company LLC, 1000 Consol Energy Drive, Suite 100, Canonsburg, PA 15317 has submitted an application with the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), 47 School Street, Suite 301, Philippi, WV 26416-1600 for a significant permit revisions to Article 3 permit number I070000 in order to change the post mining land use for a portion of the permit area from Forestland to Recreation Lands
The revised permit will discharge into Elk Run of the North Branch of the Potomac of the Potomac River of Potomac River and is located 6.25 miles southwest of Bayard in Davis and Union Districts of Tucker and Grant Counties, Longitude 79o 24’ 31” and Latitude 39o 11’ 04” (Coordinates from USGS Topographic Map).

Written comments and/or requests for an informal conference of the surface mining application shall identify the applicant and application number and will be received by the Permit Supervisor at the DEP address above until April 16, 2021, or thirty (30) days from date of final publication. A copy of the application will be available for review until April 16, 2021, or thirty (30) days from date of final publication in the DEP Regional Office located at the address above and is available at:
