Notice is hereby given that FOLA COAL COMPANY LLC, PO BOX 180, 2112 LEATHERWOOD RD, BICKMORE, WV 25019 has a permit on file with the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) for the surface mining of approximately 695 acres and has submitted an application to the DEP, 47 School Street, Suite 301, Philippi, WV 26416-1600 for renewal of Article 3 Permit Number S200396 to Coal Surface Mine in the Coalburg, Stockton, Clarion, 5-Block, and Middle Kittanning seam of coal.
The operation is discharging into Twentymile Creek or Gauley River, Leatherwood Creek of Elk River and Ike Fork of Lilly Fork of Buffalo Creek of Elk River of Kanawha River and is located 5.0 miles Northeast of GILBOA, in Henry & Grant Districts of Clay and Nicholas Counties, Longitude 80o 59’ 35.0000” and Latitude 38o 21’ 38.0000” (Coordinates from USGS Topographic Map).

Written comments and/or requests for an informal conference of the permit renewal application shall identify the applicant and application number and will be received by the Permit Supervisor at the DEP address above until February 14, 2017, or thirty (30) days from the date of final publication. A copy of the application will be available for review until February 14, 2017, or thirty (30) days from the date of final publication in the DEP Regional Office located at the address above AND in the Clay, Nicholas County Clerk’s Office(s) during normal business hours.
