Notice is hereby given that SCREAMING EAGLE COAL, LLC, P.O. BOX 1050, 22 MINE ROAD, HOLDEN, WV 25625 has submitted an application to the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), 47 School Street, Suite 301, Philippi, WV 26416-1600, for a significant permit revision to Article 3 permit number U201495 in order to add approximately 1,309 acres and delete approximately 914 acres of underground mining limits.
The revised permit will discharge into Peachorchard Branch of Twentymile Creek of Gauley River of Kanawha River and is located 5.0 miles, Northwest of DRENNEN in the JEFFERSON District of Nicholas County, Longitude 81o 3’ 18” and Latitude 38o 19’ 16” (Coordinates from USGS Topographic Map).

Written comments and/or requests for an informal conference of the permit renewal application shall identify the applicant and application number and will be received by the Permit Supervisor at the DEP address above until May 21, 2023, or thirty (30) days from the date of final publication.
