Notice is hereby given that SCREAMING EAGLE COAL, LLC, 1245 22 MINE ROAD, HOLDEN, WV 25625, has a permit on file with the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) for the surface mining of approximately 330.3 acres and has submitted an application to the DEP, 47 School Street, Suite 301, Philippi, WV 26416-1600, for renewal of Article 3 Permit Number O201193 to operate coal preparation plants and a refuse disposal area in the N/A seam of coal.
The operation is discharging into Peachorchard Branch and Boardtree Branch of Twentymile Creek of Gauley River of Kanawha River and is located 4.5 miles, northwest of Drennen, in Jefferson District of Nicholas County, Longitude 81° 3’ 9” and Latitude 38° 20’ 13” (Coordinates from USGS Topographic Map).
