Invitation to Bid
The Sweet Springs Resort Park Foundation Inc., is requesting bids for the replacement of roofing on three wings of the historic Sweet Springs Hotel building. The project includes:
1. Removal of existing roofing and inspection of existing wood roof decking on two wings.
2. Repair or replacement of deteriorated wood roof decking on two wings.
3. Furring out and installation of new plywood roof decking surface over existing shingles on concrete roof deck on one wing.
4. Installation of new asphalt shingles on two wings.
5. Installation of new standing seam metal roofing on one wing.
6. Installation of new gutters and downspouts on all three wings.
Work must be completed by May 30, 2020 and will be reviewed by the West Virginia State Historic Preservation Office. Contractors will be selected based upon (1) cost, (2) experience with similar historic preservation projects, and (3) proven ability to complete a project. All work must be carried out in compliance with the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for Rehabilitation.
Bid packages may be obtained by contacting Sweet Springs Resort Park at 304-536-4743. The property will be open for a mandatory pre-bid meeting and walkthrough at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, February 26, 2020. All bids must be received no later than 3:00 PM on March 11, 2020. Address bids to:
