INVITATION TO BID
VEHICLE/DIESEL FUEL
The Board of Supervisors of Tazewell County, Virginia 24651 is accepting sealed bids from qualified vendors to furnish and deliver vehicle/diesel fuel for use in County owned vehicles for the period beginning July 1, 2019 and ending June 30, 2020. Bids must include (1) the bidder’s total price as of June 1, 2019, (2) the bidder’s terminal price which was included in the total bid price, and (3) the bidder’s margin above terminal prices included in the total price submitted. Bidders shall be evaluated based on the lowest total price.
The contract awarded shall allow the price to increase or decrease during the term of the contract. The price at the time fuel is ordered shall be computed by adding the bidder’s terminal prices at the time of the order and the fixed margin stated in the bid.
Thereby, during the term of the contract the total price to the County when the fuel is ordered shall vary only as terminal prices vary. The bidder’s margin above terminal prices shall not vary during the contract term. The bidder’s terminal prices will be made available upon request to the Tazewell County Board of Supervisors or the Public Service Authority to justify the price at the time the fuel is ordered.
Delivery of fuels will be required at various locations throughout the County.
Maintenance of pumping equipment shall include automatic shut-off type fillers on all gas pumps.
Separate invoices will be required for the Tazewell County Board of Supervisors and the Tazewell County Public Service Authority.
All bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope clearly marked “SEALED BID – VEHICLE/DIESEL FUEL” and include the return address on the outside of the envelope. Bids must be submitted to:

All bids must be received on or before 1:00 p.m. Monday, June 24, 2019 EDT. Any bids received after the above stated date and time will not be accepted and will be returned unopened. Electronically submitted bids shall not be accepted. Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at the above stated time or shortly thereafter, in the County Administrator’s Office of the Tazewell County Administration Building, 197 Main Street, Tazewell, Virginia 24651. The Tazewell County Board of Supervisors reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any informalities and to accept that bid deemed in the best interest of Tazewell County, Virginia.
