Notice is hereby given that GREENBRIER SMOKELESS COAL MINING, LLC, 100 BILL BAKER WAY, , BECKLEY, WV 25801 has a permit on file with the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) for the surface mining of approximately 32.92 acres and has submitted an application to the DEP, 1159 Nick Rahall Greenway, Fayetteville, WV, 25840, for renewal of Article 3 Permit Number U300705 to operate a deep mine in the Pocahontas No. 6 seam of coal.
The operation is discharging into an unnamed tributaries of/and South Fork of/and Big Clear Creek of Meadow River of Gauley River of Kanawha River and is located 6.1 miles, northeast of Rupert in Meadow Bluff District of Greenbrier County, Longitude 8037’55” and Latitude 3801’00” (Coordinates from USGS Topographic Map).
