Notice is hereby given that MABEN COAL LLC, 250 WEST MAIN STREET, SUITE 1900, LEXINGTON, KY 40507 has a permit on file with the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) for the surface mining of approximately 27 acres and has submitted an application to the DEP, 1159 Nick Rahall Greenway, Fayetteville, WV 25840, for renewal of Article 3 Permit Number U301911 to Coal Underground in the Pocahontas No. 3 seam of coal. The operation is discharging into the Left Fork of Allen Creek of the Guyandotte River and is located 1.6 miles, West of Helen in Slab Fork District of Raleigh and Wyoming County, Longitude 81° 20’ 35” and Latitude 37° 37’ 51” (Coordinates from USGS Topographic Map).

Written comments and/or requests for an informal conference of the permit renewal application shall identify the applicant and application number and will be received by the Permit Supervisor at the DEP address above until July 11, 2024, or thirty (30) days from the date of final publication.
