Notice is hereby given that Marfork Coal Company, LLC, P.O. Box 457, 370 Packsville/Marfork Road, Whitesville, WV 25209 has submitted an application to the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) 1159 Nick Rahall Greenway, Fayetteville, WV 25840, for a significant revision to Article 3 Permit Number U300118 in order to add 1,995 acres of mining reserve in the Eagle seam of coal.
The revised permit will discharge into Marsh Fork & Elk Run; Big Jarrells Creek and Logan Fork of Hopkins Fork of Laurel Creek, all of Big Coal River; Browns Branch of West Fork of Pond Fork of Little Coal River; all of Coal River of Kanawha River and is located 2.0 miles southwest of Whitesville in Marsh Fork, Crook and Sherman District(s) of Raleigh and Boone County(ies), Longitude 81°-32’-18” and Latitude 37°-57’- 21” (Coordinates from USGS Topographic Map).
