NOTICE
Application packets for the Civil Service Written Examination and Physical Agility Test for entry level Raleigh County Deputy Sheriff will be available Tuesday, February 16, 2021. Beginning salary range is $37,620.00 to $39,420.00. The nature of the work to be performed is general law enforcement duties. The minimum qualifications required for the entry level position are: to be between the ages of 18 and 45; a high school diploma or GED; pass the physical fitness test and written examination; and undergo a complete background investigation. There is a $5,000.00 sign on bonus for West Virginia Certified Officers possessing a current certification.
Application packets must be picked up between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday at the County Clerk’s Office in the Raleigh County Courthouse, 215 Main Street, Beckley, West Virginia or Raleigh County Law Enforcement at 201 S. Eisenhower Drive, Beckley, West Virginia. All persons interested in this position must return the completed application and the additional paperwork as directed in the packet before March 19, 2021 at 4:00pm to either of the respective agencies.
The Physical Agility Test will be scheduled as set forth in the application packet. The written examination will be advised upon further completion of the application process.
