SEDIMENT REMOVAL
CONSULTANT
The Mercer County Commission is seeking the services of an engineer or environmental consultant with expertise in the field of dredging sediment from a county-owned lake to develop a “Sediment Removal Plan” for the removal of sediment from Glenwood Park Lake. The reservoir may be classified as a “Water of the United States” and may require special permitting from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.” In addition, sediments removed from the lake may be considered hazardous wastes and as such, may require guidance from the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection. In addition, protection as well as possible temporary or permanent relocation of aquatic life in the lake will be important. Sediment can be properly transported to the Mercer County Landfill approximately a mile away from the lake.
Sealed bids marked “RFP Sediment Removal Consultant” will be received in the Mercer County Commission Office, 1501 West Main Street, Suite 210 in Princeton, WV 24740, until 4:00 p.m. on October 25, 2024, and then at said office publicly opened and read aloud. Withdrawal of bids shall be according to Article §5-22-2 of West Virginia State Code.
