Notice is hereby given that MARFORK COAL COMPANY, LLC, PO BOX 457, , WHITESVILLE, WV 25209 has a permit on file with the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) for the surface mining of approximately 35.85 acres and has submitted an application to the DEP,1159 Nick Rahall Greenway, Fayetteville, WV, 25840, for renewal of Article 3 Permit Number U301394 to operate a deep mine and related facilities in the Cedar Grove seam of coal.
The operation is discharging into Unnamed Tributaries, Bacon Hollow, Slip Ridge Branch and Low Gap Branch all of Little Marsh Fork of Marsh Fork, Panther Branch of Clear Fork; All of Big Coal River of Coal River of Kanawha River and is located 1.0 miles, southwest of DOROTHY in MARSH FORK District of Raleigh County, Longitude 81deg. 29′ 9″ and Latitude 37deg. 56′ 57″ (Coordinates from USGS Topographic Map).

Written comments and/or requests for an informal conference of the permit renewal application shall identify the applicant and application number and will be received by the Permit Supervisor at the DEP address above until April 24, 2021, or thirty (30) days from the date of final publication.
