Notice is hereby given that Greenbrier Smokeless Coal Mining, LLC, 4547 Anjean Road, Rupert, West Virginia 25984 has a permit on file with the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) for the surface mining of approximately 491.05 acres and has submitted an application to the DEP, 1159 Nick Rahall Greenway, Fayetteville, WV 25840, for renewal of Article 3 Permit Number S300514 to reclaim a coal surface mine in the Pocahontas No. 7, Fire Creek and Beckley seams of coal. The operation is discharging into Unnamed tributary of/and Old Field Branch of South Fork and unnamed tributaries of/and South Fork of Big Clear Creek; unnamed tributaries of/and Joe Knob Branch of/and Kuhn Branch of Little Clear Creek all of Meadow River and is located 5.7 miles, northwest of Williamsburg in Meadow Bluff District of Greenbrier County, Longitude 80° 33’ 40” and Latitude 38° 01’ 29” (Coordinates from USGS Topographic Map).

Written comments and/or requests for an informal conference of the permit renewal application shall identify the applicant and application number and will be received by the Permit Supervisor at the DEP address above until
