Notice is hereby given that REPUBLIC ENERGY, LLC, P. O. BOX 69, 622 PACKS BRANCH ROAD, PAX, WV 25904 has a permit on file with the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) for the surface mining of approximately 616.58 acres and has submitted an application to the DEP, 1159 Nick Rahall Greenway, Fayetteville, WV, 25840, for renewal of Article 3 Permit Number S302794 to Coal Surface Mine in the Middle Kittanning, Lower Kittanning, Upper Mercer, Stockton/Lewiston, Coalburg, Winifrede, Chilton A, Chilton Rider, Chilton and all splits thereof seam of coal.
The operation is discharging into Bear Hollow of/and Fulton Creek, Left Fork of/and White Creek, of Clear Fork of the Big Coal River of Coal River; Fifteen mile Creek, Skitter Creek and Unnamed Tributaries of Paint Creek; ALL of Kanawha River and is located 3.33 miles, north of CLEAR CREEK in VALLEY Clear Fork District of Fayette and Raleigh County, Longitude 81° 20‘ 47“ and Latitude 37° 59‘ 2“ (Coordinates from USGS Topographic Map).

Written comments and/or requests for an informal conference of the permit renewal application shall identify the applicant and application number and will be received by the Permit Supervisor at the DEP address above until August 23rd 2025, or thirty (30) days from the date of final publication.
