Rescue Tool Bid Specifications
The Gauley Bridge Volunteer Fire Department is accepting sealed bids for a set of battery-powered hydraulic extrication tools, which shall include:
• One (1) cutter
• One (1) spreader
• One (1) telescoping ram
• One (1) combination tool
• Appropriate accessories for each tool
• One (1) multi-battery charging platform
General Requirements:
• Battery Platform: All tools shall operate using the Milwaukee M18 battery platform. Tools shall include at least one battery each (any amp-hour rating accepted). Each tool shall include two battery covers, one of which must be water-resistant or waterproof.
• Charger: A multi-port charger shall be provided and capable of charging multiple Milwaukee M18 batteries simultaneously, and be commercially available
• Controls: Tools must use a variable-speed Deadman-style control (finger/thumb control), with intuitive and responsive operation.
• Hydraulic System: Tools must utilize a battery-powered 3-stage hydraulic pump system for optimal speed and performance.
• Connectivity: Each tool must include wireless connectivity capabilities and a dashboard for tool diagnostics and monitoring, accessible through an application on a smartphone or tablet.
Tool-Specific Minimum Specifications:
Cutter
• NFPA 1936 Performance Rating: Minimum A8-B9-C7-D9-E9-F4
• Forged blades with replaceable cutting inserts
• Minimum opening width: 7 inches
• 360-degree rotating handle
Spreader
• NFPA 1936 LSF (Lowest Spreading Force): No less than 9,000 lbs.
• Minimum spreading distance: 24 inches
• 360-degree rotating handle
• Spreader tips must be capable of accepting interchangeable accessories
• Bidding firm is encouraged to provide pricing and description of any optional items.
Ram
• Extended length: Minimum 35 inches
• Removable heads for attaching optional extensions or different heads
• The bidding firm is encouraged to provide pricing and a description of any optional items, such as the EF Ram Kit.
Combination Tool
• NFPA 1936 Performance Rating: Minimum A6-B7-C6-D7-E8-F3
• Forged blades with removable tips
• 360-degree rotating handle
• Must be compatible with optional add-on accessories for FORCIBLE ENTRY OR LIFTING — spreading or cutting enhancements

The Gauley Bridge Volunteer Fire Department reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids. The award will be based on overall value and suitability to departmental needs, not on price alone. Bidders may be asked to provide a demonstration or additional product documentation upon request.
