NOTICE
PUBLIC HEARING
ON PROPOSED ORDINANCE
TO: CITIZENS OF THE CITY OF FAIRMONT:
The Council of the City of Fairmont at its regular meeting held August 26, 2025, introduced and publicly read in its entirety for the first time the following City Ordinance:
1. An Ordinance Repealing Section 525.05 Use Or Possession Of Tobacco Or Tobacco Products, Alternative Nicotine Products Or Vapor Products By Persons Under The Age Of 18 Years Prohibited; Penalties Of Article 525 Minors Of Part Five–General Offenses Code, Of The Fairmont City Code, Resulting From Changes To The West Virginia Code Made During The 2024 Legislative Session.
2. An Ordinance to Approve And Adopt Current Replacement Pages To The Fairmont City Code.
3. An Ordinance Of The Council Of The City Of Fairmont Providing For And Authorizing The Purchase Of Those Certain Parcels Of Real Estate Situate In The City Of Fairmont, Marion County, West Virginia, Namely:

By The City Of Fairmont From The State Of West Virginia Auditor As A Result Of The Non-Payment Of The Real Estate Taxes, And Providing For And Authorizing The Conveyance And Transfer Of One Or More Of Said Parcel(S) Of Real Estate From The City Of Fairmont To Subsequent Purchaser(S) In Accordance With The City Of Fairmont’s Approved Home Rule Plan And The Ordinances And Resolutions Adopted Thereunder; Ratification.
Copies of the proposed Ordinance are available in the Office of the City Clerk, Room 312, 200 Jackson Street, Fairmont, West Virginia.
The Public Hearing on the proposed item will be held at 7:00 p.m. or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, in Council Chambers, at the Public Safety Building, 500 Quincy Street, Fairmont, West Virginia.
Any interested person may appear at the public hearing and be heard as to whether or not said proposed Ordinance shall be enacted. All objections and suggestions shall be heard and Council shall take such action as it deems necessary in the premises
