Notice is hereby given that Republic Energy, LLC, PO Box 69, Pax, WV 25904 has submitted an application to the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) 159 Nick Rahall Greenway, Fayetteville, WV, 25840 for a significant permit revision to Article 3 permit number S300215 in order to revise the drainage and regrade design. Also, highwall/auger mining is being added in the 2-Gas, Peerless, Middle Cedar Grove, Upper Cedar Grove, Hernshaw, Chilton, and Chilton R coal seams.
The revised permit will discharge into Unnamed tributaries of/and Skitter Creek, Big Hollow, unnamed tributaries of Paint Creek, unnamed tributaries of Milburn Creek all of Paint Creek of Kanawha River; and tributaries of Left Fork of White Oak Creek of Clear Fork of Big Coal River of Coal River of Kanawha River (Receiving Stream) of Kanawha River (Major Subbasin) and is located 4 (miles), northeast (Direction) of Clear Creek (Nearest PO) in Clear Fork and Valley Districts of Raleigh and Fayette Counties, Longitude 81deg. 19′ 33″ and Latitude 37deg. 58′ 17″ (Coordinates from USGS Topographic Map).

Written comments and/or requests for an informal conference of the surface mining application shall identify the applicant and application number and will be received by the Permit Supervisor at the DEP address above until June 5, 2021, or thirty (30) days from date of final publication.
