NOTICE
Notice is hereby given that Marfork Coal Company, LLC, PO Box 457, Whitesville, WV 25209 has a permit on file with the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) for the surface mining of approximately 1080.24 acres and has submitted an application to the DEP, 1159 Nick Rahall Greenway, Fayetteville, WV 25840, for renewal of Article 3 Permit Number S301004 to operate a Coal Surface Mine and related facilities in the Stockton, Coalburg, Winifrede, Chilton, Hernshaw, Cedar Grove, Peerless, No. 2 Gas, Powellton and Eagle seams of coal. The operation is discharging into Beetree Branch, Slip Ridge Branch and Brushy Fork of Little Marsh Fork and Speed Branch and Right Fork of Sycamore Creek of Clear Fork and Unnamed Tributaries of each of Big Coal River of Coal River of Kanawha River and is located 2.4 miles southeast of Dorothy in Clear Fork and Marsh Fork Districts of Raleigh County, Longitude 81deg.27’51” and Latitude 37deg.55’27” (Coordinates from USGS Topographic Map).
Surface of the area associated herewith is owned by: Western Pocahontas Properties, LP, 5260 Irwin Road, Huntington, WV 25705, Rowland Land Company, LLC, 405 Capitol Street, Suite 609, Charleston, WV 25301, Black King Mine Development Company, PO Box 848, Bristol, TN 37621 *and the mineral associated herewith is owned by: WPP LLC 5260 Irwin Road, Huntington, WV 25705, Rowland Land Company, LLC, 405 Capitol Street, Suite 609, Charleston, WV 25301, *and the mineral within 100 feet of the permit area is owned by: WPP LLC 5260 Irwin Road, Huntington, WV 25705, Rowland Land Company, LLC, 405 Capitol Street, Suite 609, Charleston, WV 25301. Surface of the area within 100 feet of the permit is owned by: Western Pocahontas Properties, LP, 5260 Irwin Road, Huntington, WV 25705, Rowland Land Company, LLC, 405 Capitol Street, Suite 609, Charleston, WV 25301, Black King Mine Development Company, PO Box 848, Bristol, TN 37621.
Written comments and/or requests for an informal conference of the permit renewal application shall identify the applicant and application number and will be received by the Permit Supervisor at the DEP address above until June 10th, 2021or thirty (30) days from the date of final publication. A copy of the application will be available for review until June 10th, 2021 or thirty (30) days from the date of final publication in the DEP Regional Office located at the address above and is available at:
