Notice is hereby given that CORNERSTONE MINING, LLC, 150 COURTHOUSE RD., PRINCETON, WV 24740 has submitted an application to the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), Division of Mining and Reclamation (DMR) located at 1159 Nick Rahall Greenway, Fayetteville, WV 25840, for an Article 3 permit for the surface disturbance of approximately 649.69 acres in order to Operate a haulroad, bond within 100′ of County Route 11/1, and operate a contour, surface, auger, highwall mine. Temporary close and update County Route 11/1. This application is also requesting a variance on the 35% acreage increase limitation.

in the Pocahontas – 6— Pocahontas; Pocahontas – 7— Pocahontas; Pocahontas – 8— New River; Pocahontas – 9— New River seam of coal. The proposed operation is discharging into Unnamed Tributaries of Pinncle Creek of the Guyandotte River, Unnamed Tributaries of Left Hand Fork of Widemouth Creek of the Bluestone River of Ohio RV and is located 2.8 miles Northwest of of Matoaka in Rock and Barkers Ridge District of Mercer & Wyoming County, Longitude 81 17 28 Latitude 37 25 55

Written comments and/or requests for an informal conference of the surface mining application shall identify the applicant and application number and will be received by the Permit Supervisor at the DEP address above until July 2nd, 2021, or thirty (30) days from date of final publication. A copy of the application will be available for review until July 2nd, 2021,or thirty (30) days from date of final publication in the DEP Regional Office located at the address above and is available at:
