CLERK OF THE WORKS
The Mercer County Board of Education in Princeton, WV, is requesting proposals for contracted services to perform duties as Clerk-of-the-Works for various construction projects, including but not limited to upgrades to HVAC systems in various schools as well as the construction of a new elementary school, which will be located in Bluefield, WV. Duration of position is expected to be approximately 36 months. Preferred applicants should have an architectural or engineering degree or equivalent knowledge and experience with WV inspection codes and School Building Authority projects standards in non-residential construction. Applicants must have a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of all phases of non-residential construction and be capable of evaluating construction quality, schedules and accuracy.
Duties and responsibilities will comply with SBA requirements, including observing the quality and progress of construction to determine that it is proceeding in accordance with contract documents, monitoring construction progress and assisting in the preparation of progress reports required by the Owner or School Building Authority. The Clerk of the Works must attend project meetings as the Owners Representative and maintain records at the construction site or as directed by the Mercer County Board of Education. Applicants must be extremely organized and exhibit knowledge of SBA and MCBOE policies.
