Notice is hereby given that TAMS MANAGEMENT, INC., 302 SOUTH JEFFERSON STREET, , ROANOKE, VA 24011 has a permit on file with the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) for the surface mining of approximately 52.17 acres and has submitted an application to the DEP, 1159 Nick Rahall Greenway, Fayetteville, WV 25840 for renewal of Article 3 Permit Number S300309 to Coal Surface Mine by area mine and auger and/or highwall mine in the Middle Beckley, Lower Beckley, and Fire Creek seam of coal.
The operation is discharging into Keaton Br. and laurel Crk of Piney Creek of new River of Kanawha River and is located 2.2 miles West of Ghent in Shady Spring District of Raleigh County Longitude 81deg. 9′ 16″ and Latitude 37deg. 37′ 17″ (Coordinates from USGS Topographic Map).

Written comments and/or requests for an informal conference of the surface mining application shall identify the applicant and application number and will be received by the Permit Supervisor at the DEP address above until July 31, 2021 or thirty (30) days from date of final publication. A copy of the application will be available for review until July 31, 2021, or thirty (30) days from date of publication in the DEP Regional office located at the address above, and is available at:
