Notice is hereby given that Pocahontas Coal Company LLC, 109 Appalachian Drive, Beckley, WV 25801 has a permit on file with the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) for the surface mining of approximately 2.07 acres and has submitted an application to the DEP, 1159 Nick Rahall Greenway, Fayetteville, WV, 25840, for renewal of Article 3 Permit Number O300716 to operate a haulroad in the N/A seam of coal. The operation is discharging into Unnamed Tributaries of/and Soak Creek of Piney Creek of New River of Kanawha River and is located 0.4 miles, southeast of Midway in Town/Slab Fork District of Raleigh County, Longitude 81deg. 14′ 8″ and Latitude 37deg. 42′ 33″ (Coordinates from USGS Topographic Map).
