Notice is hereby given that PANTHER CREEK MINING, LLC, 250 W. MAIN STREET, SUITE 2000, LEXINGTON, KY 40507 has a permit on file with the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) for the surface mining of approximately 666.27 acres and has submitted an application to the DEP, 1159 Nick Rahall Greenway, Fayetteville, WV 25840, for renewal of Article 3 Permit Number S300795 to Coal Surface Mine in the Middle Kittanning, Lower Kittanning, Clarion, Stockton ‘A’, Stockton, Coalburg, Winifrede, Chilton, and all splits thereof seam of coal. The operation is discharging into Sycamore Branch, Toms Branch and Unnamed Tributaries of Paint Creek, and Unnamed Tribuaties of Armstrong Creek all of Kanawha River and is located 2.50 miles, southwest of Powellton in Valley and Cabin Creek Districts of Fayette and Kanawha Counties, Longitude 81 21′ 38″ and Latitude 38 4′ 2″ (Coordinates from USGS Topographic Map).

Written comments and/or requests for an informal conference of the permit renewal application shall identify the applicant and application number and will be received by the Permit Supervisor at the DEP address above until 12/11/21, or thirty (30) days from date of final publication.
