NOTICE
Notice is hereby given that MARFORK COAL COMPANY, LLC, PO BOX 457, 370 PACKVILLE/MARFORK ROAD, WHITESVILLE, WV 25209 has a permit on file with the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) for the surface mining of approximately 18.78 acres and has submitted an application to the DEP, 1159 Nick Rahall Greenway, Fayetteville, WV, 25840 , for renewal of Article 3 Permit Number U301406 to Coal Underground in the Peerless seam of coal.
The operation is discharging into Shumate Creek and Unnamed Tributary of Hazy Creek ALL of Marsh Fork of Big Coal River of Coal River of Kanawha River and is located 1.8 miles, southwest of Naoma in Marsh Fork District of Raleigh County, Longitude 81 deg. 31 ‘ 26 ” and Latitude 37 deg. 51 ‘ 54 ” (Coordinates from USGS Topographic Map).

Written comments and/or requests for an informal conference of the permit renewal application shall identify the applicant and application number and will be received by the Permit Supervisor at the DEP address above until March 10, 2022 , or thirty (30) days from the date of final publication.
