Notice is hereby given that GOALS COAL COMPANY, PO BOX 457, , WHITESVILLE, WV 25209-0457 has a permit on file with the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) for the surface mining of approximately 46.75 acres and has submitted an application to the DEP,1159 Nick Rahall Greenway, Fayetteville, WV, 25840 , for renewal of Article 3 Permit Number D006682 to maintain an inactive coal preparation plant and related facilities in the N/A seam of coal. The operation is discharging into Shumate Creek of Marsh Fork of Big Coal River of Coal River of Kanawha River and is located 2.0 miles, northwest of NOAMA in Marsh Fork District of Raleigh County, Longitude 81deg. 31 ‘ 18 ” and Latitude 37deg. 52 ‘ 40 ” (Coordinates from USGS Topographic Map).

Written comments and/or requests for an informal conference of the permit renewal application shall identify the applicant and application number and will be received by the Permit Supervisor at the DEP address above until March 24th, 2022, or thirty (30) days from the date of final publication. A copy of the application will be available for review until March 24th, 2022, or thirty (30) days from the date of final publication in the DEP Regional Office located at the address above and is available at:
