Periodic Mowing 2022
The City of Bluefield, West Virginia Code Enforcement Department, 200 Rogers St, will be receiving sealed bids for the maintenance of properties in violation of the city grass ordinance. Bids will be received until 2:00 P.M. on Friday, April 15th, 2022. Any bids received later than the above date and time will not be accepted.
Sealed bids must be marked on the outside of the envelope “Attention: Alex Ellison Code Enforcement Mowing Bid” Sealed bids will be opened Friday April 15th, 2022, at 3:00 P.M. at the City of Bluefield Municipal Complex at 200 Rogers St Bluefield WV.
This work shall consist of periodic mowing within the corporate limits of the City of Bluefield. Mowing contract will be valid for the 2022 mowing season which will run from 4-18-2022 to 11-14-2022 as needed. Mowers must provide proof of their State of West Virginia and City of Bluefield business licenses. Mowers must provide proof of a minimum liability insurance policy of one million dollars ($1,000,000). Bidders will provide a flat rate price per property and will supply their own equipment. Bids will be awarded based on the lowest responsible bidder.
The successful bidder shall:
1. Mow and/or trim properties designated by Code Enforcement to be in excess of twelve (12) inches.
2. Rake properties after the grass has been cut.
3. Bag all grass clippings and yard debris associated with cutting the grass.
4. Dispose of all bagged grass clippings and yard debris in proper waste receptacles or landfill.

The City of Bluefield reserves the right to contract with one business for the entire project or more than one business as the City deems to be in its best interests.
