INCREMENTAL COST OF LIVING ADJUSTMENT ORDINANCE FOR THE TOWN OF PINEVILLE, WEST VIRGINIA

BE ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF PINEVILLE, WEST VIRGINIA, as follows:

WHEREAS, the Common Council of the Town of Pineville, West Virginia (the “Town Council”), in order to address the cost of living adjustment of their elected officials and town attorney of the Town of Pineville commencing with the next term of office which begins on July 1, 2022.

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED as follows:

Section 1: Council Pay. The purpose of this ordinance is to increase the amount of pay for each of the five Council members.

Section 1.1. The five members of the Common Council shall each receive a salary of $100 per month from the Municipality.

Section 1.2 This increase in the salary of the aforesaid officials shall not take effect until the first day of July, 2022, and that prior to said date, the aforesaid shall receive their present salaries.

Section 2: Recorder Pay. The purpose of this ordinance is to increase the amount of pay for the one Recorder.

Section 2.1 The Recorder shall receive a salary of $300 per month from the Municipality.

Section 2.2 This increase in the salary of the aforesaid official shall not take effect until the first day of July, 2022, and that prior to said date, the aforesaid shall receive their present salary.

Section 3: Mayor Pay. The purpose of this ordinance is to increase the amount of pay for the one Mayor.

Section 3.1 The Mayor shall receive a salary of $350 per month from the Municipality.

Section 3.2 This increase in the salary of the aforesaid official shall not take effect until the first day of July, 2022, and that prior to said date, the aforesaid shall receive their present salary.

Section 4: Attorney Pay. The purpose of this ordinance is to increase the amount of pay for the one Attorney.

Section 4.1 The Attorney shall receive a salary of $600 per month.

Section 4.2 The disbursement of the Attorney’s monthly salary shall be as follows: $300 of the Attorney’s salary shall be paid out of the Water Account and $300 of the Attorney’s salary shall be paid out of the Town Account.

Section 4.3 This increase in the salary of the aforesaid attorney shall not take effect until the first day of July, 2022, and that prior to said date, the aforesaid shall receive their present salary.
