NOTICE
Notice is hereby given that MARFORK COAL COMPANY, LLC, PO BOX 457, WHITESVILLE, WV 25209 has submitted an application with the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), 1159 Nick Rahall Greenway, Fayetteville, WV, 25840 for a Phase 1 release on Permit Number S301004 Increment Number 2 issued for 88.46 acres.
The permit is located in Clear Fork District of Raleigh County, 2.34 miles south east(Direction) of Dorothy (Nearest PO) on Beetree Branch, Slip Ridge Branch and Brushy Fork of Little Marsh Fork; and Speed Branch and Right Fork of Sycamore Creek of Clear Fork and Unnamed Tributaries of each (Primary Receiving Stream) of Big Coal River of Coal River of Kanawha River (Secondary Receiving Stream) of Upper Kanawha River (Major Drainage Basin).
MARFORK COAL COMPANY, LLC completed backfilling and regrading on 11/10/2021 and is requesting release of 60 percent of the reclamation performance bond currently in the amount of $445,000.00.
Written comments will be received at the DEP address above until 7/8/2022, or thirty (30) days from date of final publication.
