NOTICE OF PROPOSED
ANNEXATION BY THE TOWN OF MABSCOTT A TRACT OR PARCEL OF LAND BEING A +/-0.196 ACRE TRACT SITUATED IN TOWN DISTRICT, RALEIGH COUNTY, WEST VIRGINIA
The Town of Mabscott, West Virginia, a municipal corporation, has petitioned the County Commission of Raleigh County, West Virginia to increase the Town of Mabscott corporate limits by making a minor boundary adjustment to annex A Tract Or Parcel Of Land Being A +/-0.196 Acre Tract Situated In Town District, Raleigh County, West Virginia, which said minor boundary adjustment is described as follows:
Beginning at a 5/8-inch rebar with a plastic cap, set, at the intersection on northern right-of-way line of Robert C. Byrd Drive (West Virginia State Route 16) and southern right-of-way line of Guyan Drive; thence leaving said Robert C. Byrd and with said right-of-way line Guyan Drive the following five (5) calls:
N 10deg. 00′ 12″ E 45.94 feet to a point;
N 14deg. 49′ 00″ E 52.88 feet to a point;
N 17deg. 45′ 19″ E 41.66 feet to a point;
N 26deg. 48′ 47″ E 50.14 feet to a point;
N 30deg. 10′ 19″ E 16.78 feet to a 5/8-inch rebar with a plastic cap, set, on the western right-of-way line of Old Eccles Road (County Route 3/18); thence leaving said Guyan Drive and with said right-of-way line of Old Eccles Road the following two (2) calls:
S 37deg. 32′ 07″ E 67.00 feet to a 5/8-inch rebar with a plastic cap, set;
S 04deg. 35′ 54″ E 24.22 feet to a 5/8-inch rebar with a plastic cap, set, on previously mentioned northern right-of-way line of Robert C. Byrd Drive; thence leaving said Old Eccles Road and with said right-of-way line of Robert C. Byrd Drive
S 42deg. 27′ 53″ W 160.00 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING and containing +/- 8,549 square feet (+/-0.196 acre), more or less, as shown on a drawing entitled “PLAT SHOWING BOUNDARY SURVEY OF A +/-0.196 ACRE TRACT FOR RICK WHITE” Project Number 20590, dated July 8, 2021, prepared by CENTEC Engineering, PLLC, Beckley, West Virginia.
The County Commission of Raleigh County, West Virginia has found that said proposed annexation would be a minor boundary adjustment under the provisions of West Virginia Code 8-6-5.
The County Commission of Raleigh County, West Virginia does hereby set and schedule a public hearing to consider the approval of the proposed annexation for Thursday, June 7, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. in the meeting room of the Raleigh County Commission Raleigh County Council 116 N Heber St, Beckley, WV 25801. Any persons desiring to be present at said hearing or to make comment on the proposed annexation may be present at the time and place as herein set forth for the hearing on this matter.
Notice is hereby given that the County Commission of Raleigh County, West Virginia intends to and shall take a final vote to approve or disapprove the proposed annexation immediately following the public hearing at the time and place herein set forth.
