Notice is hereby given that LEXINGTON COAL COMPANY, LLC, 1025 MAIN STREET SUITE 2, MILTON, WV 25541 has a permit on file with the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) for the surface mining of approximately 2454.88 acres and has submitted an application to the DEP, at 1101 George Kostas Drive, Logan, WV, 25601, for renewal of Article 3 Permit Number S502396 to operate and maintain a Coal Surface Mine in the Upper Kittanning, Middle Kittanning, Lower Kittanning, Lower Clarion, Upper Stockton, Lower Stockton, Coalburg, Upper Winifrede, Lower Winifrede Chilton ‘A’, Chilton Rider, Upper Cedar Grove, and Upper Cedar Grove Rider seams of coal.
The operation is discharging into Third Fork ,Petry Fork and Chimney Branch of Matts Creek of West Fork, Bee Tree Branch of West Fork, and First Left Fork, Second Left Fork, Third Left Fork, Bradley Fork and Simmons Hollow of James Creek of West Fork of Pond Fork of Little Coal River, and Dark Hollow of Upper Big Branch of Big Coal River of Coal River of Kanawha River and is located 1.5 miles, southwest of Twilight, WV in Sherman and Marsh Fork Districts of Boone and Raleigh Countties, Longitude 81deg. 35′ 07″ and Latitude 37deg. 54′ 20″ (Coordinates from USGS Topographic Map).
