LEGAL NOTICE
AND INVITATION TO BID

The Stevens Correctional Center (MCDO) located at 795 Virginia Ave., Welch, WV 24801 is currently accepting sealed bids to stabilize and protect the foundation from further settlement and repair of a perimeter wall. Bids will be received until 20 March 2023.

Bids received after this date will not be considered.

Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud on 22 March 2023 during the regular County Commission meeting, located at the National Guard Armory, Welch, WV 24801 at 4 PM. Bidders are invited to attend the meeting but it is not a requirement.

One (1) set of bid documents, including adequate liability and property damage insurance, proof of valid workers compensation coverage, warranty coverage and all other necessary certifications/paper work (Non-Conflict of Interest Certification, Purchasing Affidavit, Drug Free Workplace Conformance Affidavit and Coversheet, Employment History Disclosure, Ethics Disclosure) shall be enclosed in a sealed envelope and marked visibly on the outside of the envelope “FOUNDATION REPAIR.” This envelope shall be addressed to Stevens Correctional Center, Attn: Louvinia Collins 788 Virginia Ave. Welch, WV 24801.

Stevens Correctional Center nor the McDowell County Commission will not be responsible in the event that the U.S. Postal Service or any other courier system fails to deliver the sealed bid to Stevens Correctional Center by the given deadline above. No bids will be accepted via facsimile or electronic submission.

Stevens Correctional Center and the McDowell County Commission reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive irregularities or informalities in any or all bids and to accept any bid which is deemed to be in the best interest of the County.
