Notice is hereby given that MARFORK COAL COMPANY, LLC, PO BOX 457, 370 PACKVILLE/MARFORK ROAD, WHITESVILLE, WV 25209 has a permit on file with the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) for the surface mining of approximately 249.76 acres and has submitted an application to the DEP, 1159 Nick Rahall Greenway, Fayetteville, WV, 25840, for renewal of Article 3 Permit Number O300594 to Operate a coal refuse facility in the N/A seam of coal.
The operation is discharging into Low Gap Branch of Little Marsh Fork of Marsh Fork of Big Coal River of Coal River of Kanawha River and is located 1.1 miles, southwest of DOROTHY in MARSH FORK District of Raleigh County, Longitude 81 deg. 29 ’27 ” and Latitude 37 deg.56 ‘ 36 ” (Coordinates from USGS Topographic Map).
