NOTICE OF
PROPOSED CONVEYANCE
OF UNITED METHODIST CHURCH PROPERTY
(RICHMOND CHAPEL UNITED METHODIST CHURCH)
Notice is hereby given that Board of Trustees of the West Virginia Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church will, on or after June 22, 2023 QUITCLAIM, GRANT and CONVEY to the Trustees of Richmond Chapel, all of their right, title and interest, in those certain lots or parcels of land in New Haven District, Fayette County, West Virginia, and bounded and described as follows:
PARCEL ONE
BEGINNING at a stone on West side of Shade Creek Road
Thence N. 65 ½ W. 10 Poles to two small ash trees;
Thence S. 31W. 12 Poles to a chestnut;
Thence S. 65deg. E. 10 poles to two small maple;
Thence N. 12 poles to beginning containing 120 square rods.
And being the same property conveyed to J. L. Ramsey etals, Trustees, by Deed dated November 17, 1907, and recorded in the Office of the Clerk of the County Commission of Fayette County, West Virginia in Deed Book 33, at Page 361, reference to which is hereby made and is also made.
PARCEL TWO
BEGINNING at the road on the original line S. 85 E. to two fallen maples on Samuel Watkins line.
Thence with Martin N. 1 W. 11 Poles to a beech.
Thence leaving Martin N. 85 W. 31 Poles to the center of the old Martin Road sixteen links from a sourwood bush with the marks on it.
Thence with the Road S. 8 E. 10.25 Poles to a place in the road one rod from a white oak sapling between the two roads.
Thence N. 15 W. 3 ½ Poles to a stake by the other road.
Thence S. 28 W. 13 ½ Poles to the beginning.
And being the same property conveyed to the Trustees of the Methodist Episcopal Church from Isiah and Octavia Fitzwater by Deed dated June 5, 1874 and recorded in the aforesaid Clerk’s Office in Deed Book H, at Page 218
Said Richmond Chapel United Methodist Church was closed effective April 17, 2023 by resolution of a majority of the District Superintendents of the West Virginia Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church.
