Notice is hereby given that Panther Creek Mining, LLC, 250 W. Main Street, Suite 2000, Lexington, KY 40507 has a permit on file with the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) for the surface mining of approximately 20 acres and has submitted an application to the DEP, 1159 Nick Rahall Greenway, Fayetteville, WV, 25840, for renewal of Article 3 Permit Number H-0025-00 to Other – Haulroad Only in N/A seam of coal. The operation is discharging into Sycamore Branch and Tom’s Branch of Paint Creek of Kanawha River and is located 3.2 miles, southwest of Whittaker in Valley District of Fayette County, Longitude 81o 22′ 15″ and Latitude 38o 04′ 20″ (Coordinates from USGS Topographic Map).

Written comments and/or requests for an informal conference of the permit renewal application shall identify the applicant and application number and will be received by the Permit Supervisor at the DEP address above until October 21, 2023, or thirty (30) days from the date of final publication. A copy of the application will be available for review until October 21, or thirty (30) days from the date of final publication in the DEP Regional Office located at the address above and is available at:
