NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
AN ORDINANCE TO APPROVE A BONUS FOR CERTAIN EMPLOYEES OF TAZEWELL COUNTY EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES, TAZEWELL COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE, AND TAZEWELL COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Board of Supervisors of Tazewell County, Virginia, will conduct a public hearing on December 16, 2020 at 2:15 PM, or as soon thereafter as may be practical, at the Tazewell County Administration Building, located at 197 Main Street, Tazewell, Virginia 24651, and hereby gives its intent to reconsider An Ordinance to Approve a Bonus for Certain Employees of Tazewell County Emergency Medical Services, Tazewell County Sheriff’s Office, and Tazewell County Department of Social Services.
Section 15.2-1508 of the Code of Virginia (1950), as amended, requires that a Board of Supervisors shall enact an Ordinance whenever the Board of Supervisors seeks to provide payment of monetary bonuses to its officers and employees. The Tazewell County Board of Supervisors desires to authorize an award of one-time bonuses to certain employees of Tazewell County Emergency Medical Services, the Tazewell County Sheriff’s Office, and the Tazewell County Department of Social Services. Such bonuses would total Seventy-One Thousand, Nine Hundred Ten Dollars ($71,910.00), and such bonuses would be paid from CARES Act funding in Round 1, Phase 2, Emergency Management Fund.
All persons wishing to comment on the Ordinance are hereby invited to attend and state their views thereon. A notification of five (5) working days before the meeting will enable the County Administrator’s Office to make reasonable arrangements to ensure accessibility to the meeting.
