NOTICE TO CUSTOMERS

To maintain necessary clearances for safe and reliable electric service, APCO plans to manage vegetation along the Carbondale – Smithers portion of its 12-kilovolt distribution system in Fayette and Kanawha Counties, WV. On or about February 12th, 2024, contract crews will begin to trim and remove trees and brush and apply herbicides along our rights-of-way. Work will be done in accordance with International Society of Arboriculture guidelines and consider factors such as tree species, growth characteristics, line voltage, etc. In unmaintained or undeveloped areas cuttings will remain on site to minimize soil disturbance and to promote biodegradation.

Rights-of-way in this area involved in the program are: US Rt. 60, Michigan Ave., Lykins Ave., Laird St., Squires Ln., Montgomery St., Clay St., Cannelton Hollow Rd., Carbondale Rd., Stump Rd., Akers Rd. Howard Ave., Orchard Ave., Stockton St., Wilson St., Spruce St., Kanawha Ave., Washington St. and other locations in the city of Smithers.

Representatives will attempt to personally contact resident property owners at least seven business days prior to working on their property.
