NOTICE OF REQUEST FOR
ARCHITECTURAL/
ENGINEERING PROPOSAL
The Boomer Volunteer Fire Department, Fayette County, West Virginia is in the process of selecting a consultant to evaluate the construction of an addition to the Boomer Fire Department. The primary use of the addition will include adding an additional apparatus bay for storage of vehicles, UTVs, Trailers, etc. The project may also include Office Space and Training area. Professional services will include but are not limited to: (1) preparation of a preliminary engineering report (2) preparation of specifications and design for all components of the project (3) securing all necessary permits associated with the project (4) preparation of bidding and contracting documents (5) participation in the evaluation of bids received and (6) monitoring and observation of construction activities as required to ensure compliance with plans and specifications. Contracts are to be awarded on a Fixed Fee basis. The selected architect/engineer shall be retained throughout all stages of the project. All consultants interested in being considered for this project must submit a proposal detailing qualifications, technical expertise, management and staffing capabilities, and related prior experience.
The object of the competitive process is to select the firm who will provide the highest quality of service at a realistic fee. Technical qualifications and experience will be weighed heavily. The Boomer Fire Department shall evaluate interested firms and select a minimum of three firms which, in their opinion, are best qualified to perform the desired service. The Boomer Fire Department shall rank, in order of preference, the three professional firms deemed to be the most highly qualified to provide the services required and shall commence scope of services and price negotiations with the highest qualified professional firm for architectural /engineering services.
Proposals should be submitted to: Boomer Fire Department 188 Park Rd. PO Box 51 Boomer, WV 25031. Proposals must be received by close of business on March 4, 2024. Proposals received after the deadline will not be considered. Proposals which are mailed, and which are postmarked prior to the deadline, but received after the deadline will not be considered. Proposals will be opened on Tuesday March 5th, at 600pm at the Boomer Fire Dept. business meeting to be held at Boomer Fire Dept. located at 188 Park Road, Boomer, West Virginia 25031. Proposals must be marked on the outside of the envelope clearly stating, “ENGINEERING PROPOSAL.” Proposals will only be accepted from the legal advertisement placed in the Fayette Tribune. The Boomer Fire Department reserves the right to refuse or reject any and all proposals.
