Notice is hereby given that ORCHARD COAL COMPANY, 302 SOUTH JEFFERSON STREET, ROANOKE, VA 24011 has a permit on file with the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) for the surface mining of approximately 12.8 acres and has submitted an application to the DEP, 1159 Nick Rahall Greenway, Fayetteville, WV 25840, for renewal of Article 3 Permit Number O012083 to operate a rail coal loadout and stockpile area in the NA seam of coal. The operation is discharging into Crab Orchard Creek of Piney Creek of the New River and is located 1.6 miles, Northwast of CRAB ORCHARD in TOWN District of Raleigh County, Logitude 81o12’37” and Latitude 37o44’39” (Coordinates from USGS Topographic Map).

Written comments and/or requests for an informal conference of the permit renewal application shall identify the applicant and application number and will be received by the Permit Supervisor at the DEP address above until April 8, 2024, or thirty (30) days from the date of final publication.
