Notice is hereby given that PANTHER CREEK MINING, LLC, 250 W. MAIN STREET, SUITE 2000, LEXINGTON, KY 40507 has a permit on file with the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) for the surface mining of approximately 100 acres and has submitted an application to the DEP, 1159 Nick Rahall Greenway, Fayetteville, WV 25840, for renewal of Article 3 Permit Number S300412 to Coal Surface Mine in the Upper Coalburg—Kanawha, Lower Coalburg—Kanawha, Stockton—Kanawha, Stockton A—Allegheny, Stockton A Rider—Allegheny seam of coal. The operation is discharging into Right Fork of Armstrong Creek; Hickory Camp Branch, Unknown Tributary, and Spring Branch of Paint Creek of Kanawha River and is located 5.0 miles, southwest of Powellton in Valley District of Fayette County, Longitude 81° 19’ 55” and Latitude 38° 1’ 12” (Coordinates from USGS Topographic Map).

Written comments and/or requests for an informal conference of the permit renewal application shall identify the applicant and application number and will be received by the Permit Supervisor at the DEP address above until 04/27/2024, or thirty (30) days from the date of final publication.
