Legal Notice of Election for unexpired term of family court judge in the Sixteenth Family Court Circuit
(Clay and Nicholas counties)
Pursuant to the Governor’s Proclamation issued on July 8, 2020, due to a vacancy in the position of Family Court Judge for the 16th Family Court Circuit (Clay and Nicholas Counties), an unexpired term for that office will be added to the November 3, 2020 General Election nonpartisan ballot pursuant to West Virginia Code §§ 3-10-1 and 3-10-3.
The special candidate filing period for this office began on August 3, 2020, and ends on Tuesday, August 18, 2020. Interested candidates shall file a Certificate of Announcement with the Secretary of State’s Office along with the statutory filing fee of $1,039.50 by the above deadline. Late filings cannot be accepted.
Interested candidates shall meet all qualifications for the office as set forth in West Virginia Code § 51-2A-4.
