REQUEST FOR BIDS The Town of Clendenin is seeking sealed bids from certified Asbestos Abatement Contractors to properly remove and dispose of any and all asbestos and asbestos-containing materials from (1) private dwellings under FEMA grant 4273-092, in the Town of Clendenin. Said dwellings have been purchased by the Town of Clendenin through the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program, funded by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the WV Division of Homeland Security & Emergency Management, and are scheduled to be torn down. In addition, the Town of Clendenin is seeking sealed bids on the demolition of (3 structures) involved in the buyout and the removal of all debris resulting from said demolition, as well as landscaping following the demolition. Asbestos Abatement Contractors wishing to bid on both the abatement and demolition are requested to submit separate bids. General contractors not certified in asbestos abatement should only bid on the demolition, debris removal and landscaping. A pre-bid conference will be held on December 16, 2019. All interested contractors, or their representatives, must be present to be eligible to bid. Bids will be accepted at the Town of Clendenin Clerk’s office until (4:00 pm December 23, 2019), at which time the Town of Clendenin will open the bids at the next regular council meeting. If a bid is awarded, all work must be completed within 60 days. The Town of Clendenin reserves the right to reject any or all bids. Information for Bidders, Form of Bid, Form of Contract, Forms of Bid Bond, Forms of Performance Bond, and other related documents will be available at the pre-bid conference. Each bidder must deposit with his/her bid, security in the amount and form and subject to conditions provided in the bid package.
