No.: WV0000078 Applicant: UNION CARBIDE CORPORATION PO BOX 8361 SOUTH CHARLESTON, WV 25303 Location: SOUTH CHARLESTON, KANAWHA COUNTY Latitude: 38:22:14 Longitude: 81:40:56 Receiving Stream: KANAWHA RIVER Activity: To grant a default mixing zone and revise effluent limitations for iron at storm water Outlets 012, 049, 050, 052, 057, 061, 063, 074, 079 and 081, which discharge to the Kanawha River between mile points 55 and 56. Implementation: N On the basis of review of the application, the “Water Pollution Control Act (Chapter 22, Article 11-8(a)),” and the “West Virginia Legislative Rules,” the State of West Virginia will act on the above application. Any interested person may submit written comments on the draft permit modification and may request a public hearing by addressing such to the Director of the Division of Water and Waste Management within 30 days of the date of the public notice. The Director shall hold a public hearing whenever a finding is made, on the basis of requests, that there is a significant degree of public interest on issues relevant to the Draft Permit Modification(s).
