ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS To Whom It May Concern: The City of Charleston is soliciting bids from qualified contractors to construct a series of hiking trails within a City-owned nature preserve known as The Herbert & Gloria Jones Woodlands. The Work of this Project includes the following general elements: Construction of a hiking trail and access road to be constructed on a + 65.14-acre parcel owned by the City of Charleston in the City’s South Hills Area. Hardcopies may be obtained from Charleston Blueprint (304-343-1063) by general contractors, subcontractors, material suppliers and dealers by paying the actual cost of printing and binding and mailing however such cost or nonrefundable. 3. Bid Documents may also be examined at the viewing depositories listed in the Bidding Documents GAI Consultants, Inc., 500 Lee Steet, E., Suite 700, Charleston, WV, 25301, prepared the project manual and will be the City’s construction manager for the project. A Mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held on, September 26th, 2022 at 10:00 am at the AV Room located on the 3rd Floor of the Charleston City Hall located at located at 501 Virginia Street East, Charleston, West Virginia 25301. All prime bidders are required to attend the pre-bid meeting to familiarize themselves with the project location, site conditions, and other relevant information. A site visit walkthrough with the OWNER will be held immediately after the mandatory pre-bid meeting for those wishing to familiarize themselves with the site. All technical questions should be submitted to the City’s Bid Express Portal by 5:00 pm October 3rd, 2022. Direct Phone calls to the City or their representative is prohibited. A notice of award will be made public within 2 weeks of the bid opening. Bids are being solicited for all the work on the project. A certified check or a satisfactory Bid Bond furnished by a solvent surety company authorized to do business in the State of West Virginia in an amount equal to ten percent (5%) of the total bid must be submitted with each bid. The successful Bidder will be required to execute a contract and provide a Performance and a Labor and Material Payment Bond for 100% of the contract sum within 10 days of the contract award. All General Contractors shall include their license number in the space provided on the Bid Form and be licensed in the State of WV prior to submitting a bid in accordance Chapter 21, Article 11, of the WV Code.
