PUBLIC NOTICE Notice is hereby given that the B-C-K-P Regional Intergovernmental Council (RIC) proposes to amend its FY 2022-2025 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) and the Kanawha-Putnam 2050 Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP). These amendments are proposed in accordance with the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) and in cooperation with the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT), West Virginia Department of Transportation (WVDOT), and Kanawha Valley Regional Transportation Authority (KVRTA). Proposed projects within the TIP require approval by the RIC Policy Board. The proposed amendments to the TIP, for Kanawha and Putnam counties in West Virginia, include priority projects and programs for which implementation is anticipated during fiscal years 2022-2025. The TIP describes all highway and transit projects for which federal funding is anticipated and provides a financial plan for implementation. The TIP also includes estimates of available funding from the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) for projects that serve elderly persons and persons with disabilities. The 2050 Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP) includes priority projects and programs for which implementation is anticipated over the next twenty years. The MTP must meet all air quality conformity requirements stipulated within the Clean Air Act and the WV State Implementation Plan (SIP). The proposed TIP amendments are available for public review and comment and may be accessed at www.wvregion3.org and at the RIC office, located at 315 D Street, South Charleston, WV 25303. Members of the public, representatives of public agencies, transportation agencies, private transportation providers, freight shippers, public transit users, other stakeholders and all affected persons are encouraged to review and submit comment on the proposed TIP amendments.
