NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING WEST VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION DIVISION OF WATER AND WASTE MANAGEMENT PUBLIC MEETING FOR THE CABELL COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION’S APPLICATION FOR COVERAGE UNDER THE GENERAL WEST VIRGINIA NATIONAL POLLUTANT DISCHARGE ELIMINATION SYSTEM WATER POLLUTION CONTROL PERMIT FOR THE NEW MEADOWS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL (WVR112194) Public Notice No.: SM-99-2023 Public Notice Date: September 12, 2023 Publication: The Herald Dispatch The West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection’s Division of Water and Waste Management is holding a public meeting for the Cabell County Board of Education’s application for coverage under the General West Virginia National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System Water Pollution Control Permit for the new Meadows Elementary School (Application no. WVR112194). The Cabell County Board of Education applied for coverage to operate and maintain a treatment and disposal system with best management practices for direct discharge of treated Stormwater into Fourpole Creek, a tributary of the Lower Ohio River. The draft application is for 18.50 acres of earth disturbance to create a new elementary school near Huntington, WV in Cabell County. The comment period for the draft application opened on June 28, 2023. A public meeting on the draft application will be held on Thursday, October 12, 2023 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Huntington High School, located at One Highlander Way, Huntington, WV 25701. The WVDEP will provide information, answer questions, and accept official comments.
