Kanawha Street, Beckley WV 25801 until 1:30 PM local time on Thursday, May 23, 2024 (Bids received after this time will not be accepted). Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud immediately following. After opening, the bids will be compared as to quality, thoroughness, and cost by the Owner, and Architect ngineer (ZMM ARCHITECTS ENGINEERS). Lump sum bids are being solicited for Work included in the above referenced Bid Item for the Project indicated. ZMM ARCHITECTS ENGINEERS will conduct a MANDATORY PRE-BID CONFERENCE on Thursday, May 9, 2024 at 10:00 AM local time at Shady Spring Elementary School, 600 Flat Top Road, Shady Spring, WV 25918 (meet at Front Entrance); all interested Prime Contractor bidders, sub-contractors and material suppliers are encouraged to attend. The purpose of the pre-bid conference is to familiarize the Bidders with the site and if they should have any questions regarding the Bidding Documents. All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Bond, executed by the Bidder and an acceptable Surety, in an amount equal to 5% of the bid. The successful bidder will be required to furnish and pay for a 100% Performance and Material Payment Bond in the amount of the bid (including all add alternates), as described in the Instructions to Bidders. Each bidder shall ensure that all employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of race, creed, color, sex, or national origin. No bidder may withdraw his bid within sixty (60) days after the bid opening. The Owner reserves the right to conduct such investigation as necessary to determine the responsibility of a bidder, and to the extent permitted by state law; Raleigh County Schools reserves the right to reject any and all bids, and to make selections from the bids that are solely in the best interest of Raleigh County Schools. Contractors shall comply with all applicable national and state codes and regulations listed in the General and Supplementary Conditions.
